Black men definitely prefer natural hair

Exactly

But if a woman been rockin fake bullshyt in her head since she was 9 years old - you'll never be able to convince her to take it out

So most black men have simply given up and just accepted the current situation.... I already know its a dead-end convo.

What I am taking from this is is that women love to hear the truth
whether racist or not....appears certain wite men are telling them that about their hair

seemingly the "I love it natural.....you my blk queen" is not being believed
especially when MULTIPLE men in the thread are straight up saying they not into the short nappy hair

problem there becomes
how many of those who say nothing REALLY feel the same way

problem with most people is that they do EVERYTHING they do for others.....
the partner they choose has to be vetted by society or the crowd they consider cool....
if your crowd is really cool like MDs and PHDs......
natural hair in a wite supremacist society is viewed as a plus
for the "rebels/strong"
But everyone isn’t rebellious. Everyone isn’t strong.

That’s the point.
If we were it wouldn’t have taken until the last couple years to get the “Crown Act” passed because black women AND men would’ve been fighting the system and pushing for acceptance of natural hair/styles.

Most of us aren’t that strong.
Most of us assimilate to just get into our fields/settings.

I could NEVER go on an interview with a fro or some kinky twists. Lmao
I wear my hair straight for the first couple years and when my position is solidified I stroll through the door with my braids and look at all the shocked white faces that won’t say a word because I’ve been with the company for too long for them to try it.

Leaving out all the pulling nonsense, I will say I got way more compliments from white people when I first big chopped and rocked a short fro (not that I was looking for their opinion). Once my natural hair got long, black folks got on board. It is what it is. If it's not gonna be straightened, WE collectively prefer looser textures and/or longer kinky hair. Anybody who says different is lying.

I see no lies here.

Black men LOVE black women who wear their hair natural. Period

Why is this even a discussion?:why:

We like natural hair just fine. Where it becomes a discussion is when the hair is short, as then you get the "baldhead" talk from certain men. Some dudes will have an issue if a woman's hairstyle looks too much like theirs. But all in all, no one is tripping over natural hair,

I feel kind of strange because I'm convinced that I'm one of the few Black men who just don't care if Black women have natural or straightened hair. Call me a c00n but I just simply can't bring myself to care. I never sat down and said "eww straight hair!" Or "eww nappy hair!"
Youre not strange, they are. Who cares lol

Let me ask you a question.

I remember girls having perms and weaves as early as 4th grade.

Those little girls had weaves for black boys? Or was it the BLACK MOTHERS pushing it?

Be HONEST.

I remember black boys were making fun of the smell..... we always hated that shyt - even as children :laff:
Our mothers relaxed our hair because kinky hair is a lot to deal with, especially with kids who are playing, swimming, getting messy etc, as kids do. The moms who were up on game just made their daughters rock braids or cornrows until middle school was over. But that wasn’t most moms.

And y’all may not have liked the smell of the relaxed hair (which you wouldn’t actually smell unless you’re talking about being in a salon or being around your sisters when their hair is being relaxed at home 👀), but those of you who made fun of the girls with “nappy hair” shut up about it, OR you may have been preoccupied with the girl with the long curly hair.

Both of these are much better than a divestment wig, but these 2 natural hairstyles won’t get the same response from most dudes.

as with all things
how will the cycle be broken?
if your daughter has very course hair
sensitive head
hard to comb

what will be the approach?
cause yes it does start from the mothers

my great issue here is that the men are not listening to yall

every single woman is aware of the types of women MOST men like pysically/sexually

problem is most women seem not aware that men most men just want the poosy
wite or black

what is bolded honestly makes me sad
seriously

truth though
even being from the Caribbean....I do not like for professionals to have locs/dreads
my stereotypes....very very wrong also

Black men definitely prefer natural hair, but this is also true based on the convos I’ve had with women who’ve gone natural
Brehs prefer natural LONG hair. If you have kinky hair that, when stretched, it’s down your back- YES, brehs love it.

When you do the big chop and you basically have a fade or a short fro, nah. Not so much.

Now the conversation is progressing!!!

I remember I started seeing girls with fake hair around 4th-5th grade.... 9-10 years old.

Most boys at that age just wanna watch spongebob.... we are not worried about your hair.

The black mothers started it but they never get the blame.... its only black men who gets the blame even tho we are innocent bystanders.

The four-hundred thousand
THANK YOU.

Every BW knows the exact “look” they have to rock to attract the brehs who are paying**

For dates, etc 👀
Mm hm.

Im a militant natural, but if I'm ever back on the dating market, it's gon be silk press all day every day till I pull a new husband. Bm LOVE long straight hair, especially when it's real.

The romantic marketplace is a competition. Women know exactly what they need to do to win, especially with bm cuz they tend to be louder about their preferences lol.

Majority of black men, myself included, prefer natural hair over the fake stuff. Now if a woman had weaves and it looked somewhat natural and not that ridiculous shyt some sisters get, then I can rock with it.

As long as you maintain your natural hair and not use being natural as an excuse to keep it unkempt, then I'm down.
