The way you people working overtime on thinking about Jay-z just makes a stronger case for him being goat.

Even Pac Stans have now gone from saying “Pac > Big” to “Pac > Jay”. I couldve bet a stack on this thread being another man who’ve been thinking about Jay-z all day :mjlol:

At this point he’s synonymous with Goat. You’re gonna start saying Nas is the real Jay-z soon. Just like that art of dialogue weirdo asks everyone if Pac is better than Jay-z, he ain’t even thinking about another rapper to compare him with

The Jay and Nas stans on here really make it hard to appreciate their music. Drake and Pusha stans too. It says a lot about y’all identity though.
I don’t know, I find it funny. It’s a feature of our generation, we are literally gonna be 70-80 having nas/hov debates, I can’t help but laugh about it.

No I don’t think about stans while listening to their music. I read the dumbass posts on here and it makes me not want to listen to their music at that moment.

For example, the best Dre beat thread made me go thru all his shyt.

These dumbass stan wars do not make me do that.
I mean, no, stan/troll threads shouldn’t inspire that. But if you go into the 500 page Nas thread, you should be inspired to go back to tracks. When you go in a “whats better, vol 1 vol 2 or vol 3” thread, you should be inspired to go revisit jay. Stan war threads are not where you go to be inspired to listen to their music, it’s for fukkery only.

And no, every thread of these two doesn’t turn into a stan war, there have been plenty of productive discussions about each of their discographies.

I agree with the first paragraph. As for the bolded, I never said every thread or anything that you mentioned.

I guess my dumbass came in here wondering who the thread was about and looking for a legit argument, only to find out it was shytting on a legend to big up another, like both artists don’t have recent classic material. So I was kinda let down on some “not this again.”

To be fair, this thread is a parody of and response to @Cladyclad 7am thread shytting on Nas.

Mid and very unforgettable.

That's not a solo album and Kanye couldn't miss at that time Jay was hopping on trends as usual.

That's understandable!
How is that trend hopping when Kanye and him been down, musically, since 2000?

Trend hopping would’ve been hopping on the DJ mustard band wagon.

Disagree. Smile is the best Jay track I’ve heard in awhile. Some great gems on there.

I ran 4:44 back yesterday after not listening to it in a couple years, I have mixed feelings on it. In general his lyrics on it are sharp, Story of OJ and Marcy Me are the stand outs, great songs (although I wish Marcy Me was longer) and I like him making a more personal record and talking about his flaws as a man but some of it doesn't really stick with me and is kinda boring. I'm also still not big of his flow and delivery as he got older, doesn't hit like it used to. Still probably his best album since AG though.
