Investing vs. Trading
Invest for growth.
Trade for profit.

Technical analysis vs. Fundamental analysis
Do a little of both.

It wouldn't hurt to study investing/trading from a law perspective such as negotiable instruments.

Securities break down into bonds (debt), equity (stocks), derivatives (forwards, futures, options, and swaps).

Negotiable instruments, securities, banknotes (such as Federal Reserve Notes) are all varied forms of CONTRACT.
If studying this all from a law perspective, study the Law of Contracts.

Master debt! Debt is the underpinning of the whole economic system whether it is the currency (Federal Reserve Notes) or margin (leverage or borrowing money).

Out of all of this, I'm surprised no one has mentioned index funds (mutual funds and ETF (Exchange Traded Funds)).

Count me in for contributing information on investing/trading. I would also have an eye towards early retirement along with financial independence.

I'm 4 pages deep and didn't see many suggestions to actually start a business together :snoop: here are some tangible things we could do together for very little money.

#1 we could all invest in @Blacksands video game idea to get him the boost he needs to make his idea really something real

#2 We could start a "black investment club" where we make small loans to businesses who need the loans in exchange for percentages of profits or payback of the loan with interest

#3 we could start an MLM. Granted, this isn't the BEST option, but if we started an MLM, started posting pictures online and using that as a way to recruit one of those big people in an MLM, we could all sit pretty until we get shutdown :mjlol: :yeshrug: white people do it over and over and make a killing, why shouldn't we?

#4 we could start an alternative media channel online. We have enough people here that we definitely have the capabilities for writing, video journalism, etc. and we already do this in various forums. We could get a plan together (those who invest) and build a media channel that represents our view and eventually get sponsors and sell it to a larger company (Viacomm for example) or keep it independent :salute:

#5 (and this one is the MOST controversial) we start a business aimed specifically at white people in order to get the white dollar into the black community. Asians have hair care stores and food stores in our neighborhoods and we flock to those and give our dollar to different communities, why shouldn't we aim for a different communities dollar to bring into our community? My plan would be (again this is controversial) we start a clothing business that is directly for white people where we sell Trump branded memorabilia in rebel flag print, anti Hillary messages, stupid south sayings like "This is OUR country" etc. We really walk the line between acceptable and controversial. This would do two things: 1 we would make money because we know that hillbillies would buy the shyt and 2 we would be directly undermining them by selling it to them. If we ran an online store it would be little investment (the website, photoshop, printer for the shirts etc., marketing) and we know these types of people aren't going anywhere any time soon

Thoughts :jbhmm:

I already made a demo and the first issue of my comic book series. I am in talks with Dark Horse Comics for publishing. I will be running a kickstarter in a month or two to ride the hype train.

besides stuff I hear in the news, I have been researching companies for products I like or use regularly. For instance when I'm thinking about a new phone, I'll check out apple (however, their dividend is under 2%). if I hit up costco, I'll check their stock to see if I might wanna invest.

the yield on verizon is currently at 4.49% so you're at least gonna get that total annually in dividends which is pretty sweet. I bought some verizon at like $47 and its around $52 right now.

ford has a yield of 4.56%. they have only gone up 40 cents since I bought, but that's fine. as long as they are staying the same or increasing, I'm getting my 4.56% return regardless.

say breh, you found any other high yield companies to check out since this last post?

for research purposes :dame:

I would strongly advise against any kind of short term spread bet/options/forex style trading in the group. Even if you ignore the logistics and trust, it's a very difficult thing to do. People's expectations of how this stuff works is far from reality e.g. If you have a trade where you can make 10x your capital, it means 90% of the time you are going to lose.

This would be much better off investing: recommending companies, funds that people think are value or 'black' or whatever. However this time horizon is much longer, and profit potential/risk profile is less.

I have been an fx trader for a long time and would never do it with my own cash, and the traders that I worked with didn't either.

Ive been checked buffets list, motley fool etc just wondering from YOUR perspective and personal exp if there was any you personally suggest..

man, I haven't bought anything in a few months. last stock I checked into was excelon which is an energy stock that pays like 3.3% dividend. was gonna buy them around $31, but they shot up to like $36, and I had to be like :whoa:

the reason I checked into them is cuz the news was saying how com ed (our local electricity and subsidiary of that company) was gonna raise rates this year. I kinda missed out on that one.
