TLOP was a good album though. It was only average by Kanye standards. But I agree with almost everything else. Even that Swift shyt was stupid of him, even if he was right. Why the fukk are you beefing with pop stars? It's crazy how perhaps the most critically acclaimed artist of the 21st century has made people forget that.

The only thing redeeming about The Life of Pablo was Chance/Kelly Price on Ultralight Beams, 30 Hours and No More Parties In LA and I Love Kanye, and the Max B interlude. Everything else was a pile of dodo and just 1 big mess. Kanye don't even know what direction he wanna go in no more with his music. The problem is, his attention is elsewhere with fashion more than ever now and outside of selling more records, his interest in the music ain't there like it was 10 plus years ago

And yeah, the whole "beef" with Swift has been dumb and stupid as hell since day 1. He really felt like he needed to stand up for Beyonce? BEYONCE. The woman who's basically the biggest female artist of the last 10 years. Then the whole recent shyt with Swift just felt like a publicity to sell his music since he know deep down his music ain't what it use to be. That's why we got all those outlandish twitter rants from him when he was gearing up for the release of The Life of Pablo :pachaha:

Ye is a damn ego maniac and fool :mjlol:

Again you making it personal and you're discussing me...instead of the album, I'm all ears, why is it a great album ?
You're the one who says it's above the average laymens musical sensibilities or just the average musician for that matter, and you supposedly understand why/??, so instead of insulting me, simply say why it's a great album, or refute one of the remarks I made about it.....:Whatbytch:

only reason i made it person is cause you said you were a musician. I have no idea who you are other than that.

I dont see anything good coming from continuing this discussion.

Real Friends is a very good song. Father Stretch My Hands was good minus the a$$hole bar. The other songs are just okay besides the ones you listed. But they're not trash.

Kanye is the Dave Chappelle that never went to Africa of rap. New Kanye is way more entertaining than old Kanye. He's Michael Jackson status. Gotta love and hate him. He might be our greatest living entertainer of modern times. Seriously who is his competition? Maybe Chocolate Droppa/Kevin Hart's alter ego...

Real Friends was neither here, just blah. Father Stretch My Hands was only good for Cudi and the Metro Boomin' beat and sample. Ye fukked that song all up with the a$$hole line and then all his mumbling

Yeezus is a hip hop album, a hip hop album you're not comfortable with.
I don't like the comment that guy made about it being a musicians album, because that just adds to the hate you guys have for it, thinking that it's pretentious, and plenty of people like me just enjoy the music.
Rap critics loved Yeezus to, critics in general, so I don't know what you're saying.
I'm not gonna argue with the rest of your post, though I do think it's a load of fukking garbage.
Okay let me sum up my post for you than, The album is in general unintelligible slop, conceptually and musically, and most people who appreciate it, do so out of hearsay... well so and so said it's not a weed plate so it's ahead of it's time....you just don't get how great kanye is, some of the same motherfukkers can't tell who NoID is or what an ASR 10 is, but will gladly tell you that musically, it's beyond your comprehension
look dog it is, what it is, you like the album, and I don't, but don't piss on my leg and tell me it's Fiji water...or that I shouldn't have an opinion on it :comeon:

:scust: The pretentiousness in that statement as a musician I don't fukk with yeezus and it's not above any rap critics opinion to give :trash: credit where credit is due...it's a rap album, not an alt rock/ indie album....fukk cares what some cac hipster in brooklyn thinks

Yeezus was slop compared to mbtdf, song structure wise, instrumentation wise, sound and sample selection sucked, lyrics were garbage, and conceptually it was:trash:

you think new slaves was garbage lyric wise? you think blood on the leaves sucked sample wise? you think hold my liquor sucked song structure wise?

it was a vast departure from mbdtf which is an amazing album, but besides for a few lows (and i mean lows), yeezus is dope as fukk. i would love to hear the pre-rubin version. yeezus gets slammed because it's not as accessible and steers far away from a lot of traditional rap. it could be why "hipsters" like it because they don't just listen to rap music and they at least know of death grips and can tolerate what yeezus is.

you know death grips and i definitely think they're more hipster shyt than yeezus is so what's your issue with it? because it comes from an artist like kanye?

No more pseudointellectual than the pretentious conscious raps Kanye was spitting over soul samples on Dropout.
Not exactly sure what's pretentious about anything on the album other than maybe Black Skinhead and New Slaves tho.
Is it the style?

All this tells me is you're mad at people praising Kanye.
I think it's a dope album, that's it, I said none of that other stuff.

It just was sonically garbage to my ears compared to the first 3 albums... it was like everything was muffled and incoherent. it was so abstract and nonforming i cant cosign... the music was garbage...

I think new slaves was pretentious and the entire hypocritical rhetoric is cringeworthy, he posits himself in a similar way al sharpton or some other fallacious preacher would, the punchlines are funny at best
The Blood on the Leaves sample has been used endlessly throughout hip hop, Nina Simone in general is a go to, completely oversaturated, interesting use of the chops though and I liked the brass sequencing, the autotune was :scust: though...........
Also I don't see much of a death grips influence other than sonically, with a lot of digital distortion and harsh synth selection here and there....it seems like a bit of a cop out, people who really listen to rap music are used to dirt and grit on records......but people seem to invalidate their opinion, because they think the opposite is true, real heads use to the lo-fi sound.....anyway just my opinion, if you like the album salute and stay :Wavegod:
