Kanye is the Dave Chappelle that never went to Africa of rap. New Kanye is way more entertaining than old Kanye. He's Michael Jackson status. Gotta love and hate him. He might be our greatest living entertainer of modern times. Seriously who is his competition? Maybe Chocolate Droppa/Kevin Hart's alter ego...
Hell no
Mike was HUGE

Kanye isn't even near Eminems level

People in this thread need to stop.

Not about Kanye as a person since that's the topic, but associating it with his music.
Jay knows Kanye the person, so when he talks about missing the old Kanye it's a legitimate comment on his emotional state.
So stop trying to act in turn with that comment, that Kanye fukked up his music with his moms death.

When Kanye went on to make a classic album, with classic hits, that shifted the genre.

The album currently considered the best of the decade.

And the widely loved and critically acclaimed album known as Yeezus.

All of which added to his legacy.

Graduation and TLOP are his only albums to be received lukewarmly by critics and the wide populous.
Nothing about Biggs statement implies any relation to music.
Graduation went plat first week but it was received lukewarmly ok buddy

kinda a diss imo. i'm a big jay fan, both the artist and business man, but i think he was playing them la familia games again:yeshrug: but then again kanye should be smart enough to see that, take it as what it is and move accordingly instead announcing it to the world like an emotional bytch. if my "friend" didn't show up to my wedding, never seen my kid or our kids never played with each other (and i bet there are other things too) then he ain't really my friend.

I always say that breh. He aint been the same since his momma died

He was a mommas boy. Imagine if your moms passing was indirectly related to your success. And for her to die suddenly at the pean of your success. And he lost his long time gf around the same time. With nobody to pull your ego in...how would you respond. I can understand dudes pain...but at some point being an a$$hole just to be an a$$hole aint cool.

So we're taking the word of some nameless, faceless tabloid hack as gospel nowadays?

:snoop:

Once again, the Booths inability to think critically comes to the fore in threads like these.

Na
Sorry I meant successful musicians

Ive been in the studio with some of the most successful music producers, engineers, ect in the game and a lot of them praise the technical heights he reached on that album. I dont do music (im an art director in the music industry) so i cant really comment on what they are talking about but I appreciate the skill for what it is.

There is a lot of things in art/design that the average person wouldn't understand or appreciate, but just because the average person doesn't get it, it doesn't take away from its brilliance or craftsmanship.

Yeezus did influence a lot of the way music sounds today
I call bullshyt
And I loved yeezus
