I agree this could be something major but it's all incumbent on "getting it right", I've shot a few day in the life vids with artists out here in Houston but nothing ground breaking that will engage viewers outside of any other video of that artist. The burden will be on the entertainers to offer themselves up for that real time interaction with their fans but unfortunately many entertainers don't know how or prefer not to interact with fans on a personal level.

Someone will get it right though. That tech is largely still in infancy. I don't know how long it will take, but when it does...

Edit: Concerning artists not knowing how to interact with fans...they will learn if they want to continue to get that guap. Think of twitter before celebrities started having accounts. Now, Twitter is a part of the celebrity package for the most part.

Streaming video from artist to consumer is the next wave. Wether it's concerts, studio, a day in the life, or q&a with fans sitting in their "chatroom" or however the fukk it will be modeled. REAL TIME VIDEO INTERACTION from artist to fan is gonna be huge. Whoever gets it right first will have the juice.

Ustream is the testing model for pay to watch video streaming from artists. Spend $100+ to go watch a concert in person or pay $9.99 or $19.99 to watch that same concert in HD from the comfort of your home.

The amount of people that can't or wont go to a concert for whatever reason, but are able to spend a substantially less amount to watch at home is ALOT.

We are watching it develop in front if us as we speak.

how much does it really cost to make music?

A $300 fl studio software pack is enough for studio quality sound these days, and most kids listen to music that is directly from fl studio (sound cloud , YouTube).

I don't see why spot if is such a bad deal considering what little it takes to actually create music.

I've never heard of it before, so I went to their site. The site is not done well, they aren't using their own codec to do the streaming, and that's what I'm talking about. A proprietary application that is easy to navigate on the frontend, visually stunning, and easy to setup for a stream on the backend.
