I agree this could be something major but it's all incumbent on "getting it right", I've shot a few day in the life vids with artists out here in Houston but nothing ground breaking that will engage viewers outside of any other video of that artist. The burden will be on the entertainers to offer themselves up for that real time interaction with their fans but unfortunately many entertainers don't know how or prefer not to interact with fans on a personal level.
Someone will get it right though. That tech is largely still in infancy. I don't know how long it will take, but when it does...

Edit: Concerning artists not knowing how to interact with fans...they will learn if they want to continue to get that guap. Think of twitter before celebrities started having accounts. Now, Twitter is a part of the celebrity package for the most part.
