Well, here's what I do:

I purchase/download full albums by the artists I support. You won't catch me listening to an album like GKMC or The Black Album on Spotify. Kinda like movies. I have the DVDs of The Godfather trilogy, 40-Year-Old Virgin and that sh1t I love.
But where Netflix/Spotify come in handy is those things that I'm just curious about. Just earlier, I was listening to jazz for an hour or so. I go on kicks and start listening to early 80s soft rock and random stuff like that.

I don't know if I'm getting my point across, but hopefully you see what I'm saying :ld:

Nukkas still on DVDs :rozay:

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I just started using the free trial.

I've been downloading music since 2003. Honestly the biggest drawback is sound quality. It's usually hit or miss. I'm feeling spotify so far but I don't know. I still feel restricted. Part of what I like about downloading for free is the thrill of the hunt. :manny:

$10 a month aint bad but I've heard about people losing gigs of music on some dumb shyt like syncing with too many devices.

So y'all pay just to listen to music, not even burn/download? :wtf:

You might as well youtube it :heh:

Ya this my issue, Spotify is great and you can find pretty much anything but at the end of the day not being able to keep any of it, not one album a month, nothing, is wack to me

Would probably mess with it if the premium was $5 a month

Now a days most people treat music was a shelf life. shyt is disposable to a lot of fans. :manny: A lot of people only have playlists instead of albums. Spotify is just catering to that market share.

Edit : Seems like Google acquired them for 4.3 B last month. Good move.

Pretty sure that was an April Fools Joke.

Thing with spotify is the artists get pennies for their work, so it's still morally vacuous as far as I'm concerned when we're talking about downloading music or streaming.

That's just me though, I really try to support artists that I like any way I can, so I usually just buy their music + stream it on spoitify because even though spotify/record labels give them pennies it is still free pennies I suppose.

If I don't buy an album I'll download it for my iPod then still only stream it on spotify.

:wtf: Why don't yall just dl music ?

ISPs are selling :flabbynsick: download speeds. I ain't got time for that.

But if Google Fiber ever comes to Chicago, I might have to reconsider :lupe:

I buy a solid stack of albums ever year, and do download a lot of projects. But I usually stream mixtapes off the LiveMixtapes app, and use Spotify to listen to everything else, especially albums I have never checked out.

Spotify is :ohlawd:

I stream spotify at home and work. They have almost every album on there but a few artists. I noticed that they added a few albums and artists that i couldn't find before on there.

Yea it probably was because theres not many sources. Still, Spotify is in play. I remember reading a Bloomberg Brief that mentioned how a company is looking at them. I forgot who though.

Not only that but I feel like we are being lead astray with this streaming ish. Its convenient but not if everyone starts to charge you for data, I'm waiting for the day cable adopts the system most phone companies have and tier off there data plans after they hook everyone on streaming. I stream at times on my phone (AT&t god fathered in unlimited) and tried Netflex for a few months (already had most of the ish they did) but I feel like its a long game setup

Meh, if I wanna listen to something, it's on my CPU, which I'm able to stream to my phone/ipad/whatever no matter where I am. So Spotify, or any of these radio pay services, is pointless to me.

And Spotify is NOT Artist friendly. It may be Label friendly, but artists see very little from Spotify.
