The funny thing is a lot of those fallacies can be just as misapplied to dismiss legitimate arguments. Take #7 for example. Everyone disagreeing with someone doesn't mean everyone's right. They could all just be subscribing to groupthink#13 reinforces this
Why create a strong argument when you can "see what kinds of words/phrases get positive responses versus which ones get negative responses" and cater to the crowd?
It's trying to help YOU avoid bad faith arguments. Both #7 and #13 are really good advice for anyone who has to interact with other people and who wants to be effective and also learn things.
#7 is saying that when multiple people are saying there is something seriously wrong with your argument, it is worthwhile to take their perspective into account. The point didn't even say that means you're "wrong", it just means you should check yourself to make sure that there's not something you're missing, or perhaps a different equally valid perspective.
#13 is just saying you should use language that fits your audience. It doesn't mean you should change your argument, it just means that a conservative coming onto a liberal board is gonna lose if they talk about "those illegals" and a liberal on a conservative board should know they're getting laughed away if they start with, "as a cis-person, I..."

Revision is crazy here. Dead7 has been posting the same way for more than 10 years. HL got swept up in tbe same bullshyt America did with the both sides stuff.

Again in a place like HL where there is clear groupthink it's not unlikely or uncommon for said groupthink to be wrong.
So the mob should disregard any legitimate points made if they aren't made with the codewords and language they approve of. Seems you are an advocate of ideological mob rule

In summary, the idea of "just asking questions" is a way to make ridiculous accusations while sidestepping the burden of proof.
It's a way of trying to trick someone into making an inconsistent statement about the validity of questioning a belief, i.e. it makes you look irrational because you're pointing out how ridiculous the question is (in context).

"A number of people agreeing" and "groupthink" are not the same thing. There's no significant reason for groupthink in HL - we don't have any social cohesion and the shared values aren't extremely large. You're just using "groupthink" as a lazy way out of explaining being in a minority position. You need to make a better case than that.
No one said anything like that, anywhere. It's like you're trying to demonstrate bad faith arguments yourself right now.
