I perceived extreme satire of the youth culture.
Watch it ironically. I felt it was campy dark and hilarious. Like they decided to make a Mom and Dad's worst nightmare. The narration is so ridiculous when shown in front of what's happening.
Do you love dynamic cinematography??
Young 18 year olds flashing, grinding, blowing down 200 blunts during the whole film.
By the time the Britney spears montage happens you should be in awe that someone actually made a film like this.

i kind of loved it.. well parts of it..same with Yeezus (since it was mentioned above).
i enjoyed them both for what they were..warts and all..without thinking they were genius or going over anyones head though.
both are perfect representations of the "tumblr" generation..a big miss mash of everything.

I enjoyed but like the poster above said it's not for everyone.
The first third of the movie is pretty damn good. It flows smoothly and is shot exceptionally well. The way that robbery scene was shot 
. Things don't go off the rails til there's too many party scenes. At that point, the film loses direction. The weird part about that is James Franco doesn't show up til you've started to get tired of the repetitive nature of the scenes and are thinking of turning it off. And nearly everything that happens after he shows up is pure garbage. Outside of his hilarious "Look at My shyt" speech and the weird Britney Spears montage, he doesn't help. It's one of those uneven movies where you can appreciate certain parts and hate others. If you can handle that and remember to fast forward through "SPRING BREAK FOREVER" then you should watch it.

I don't understand why that happened.
