I always see how you nikkas on this forum mention how CDMA is garbage compared to GSM. Why is that? Is strictly about being able to use your GSM phone with any GSM carrier via sim card?

not worried about service since they wont drop GSM but who knows what could happen to prices and policies...

That and CDMA data (EV-DO rev.A) sucks ass in 2014..up to 3g only, and its 3g speeds are the worst (up to 3mbps..but less than 1mbps is more likely). GSM techs (w-cdma as part of UMTS) has MUCH MUCH better DL speeds...hence Tmobile was hitting 25mbps BEFORE even rolling LTE out.. There are better CDMA data transmission techs (EV-DO rev.B) but they weren't implemented in any US carriers. HSPA (high speed packet access), HSDPA (high speed downlink packet access), and LTE (long term evolution) are GSM(A) foundation-approved techs. Its actually deeper than that but ill keep it concise.
