My guess is the next move would be J.R. Smith for a longer bad contract. I could see them having interest in a Miami piece like Johnson or Richardson. J.R. Smith has a 3.7 million buyout for 2019-20. Makes him a cheap deal. Damn, Johnson deal is so bad. It's gonna cost a lot to trade him. Maybe Clarkson/J.R. for Johnson/Rodney McGruder.

That's only a bad deal for teams who can actually draw free agents and has a core they actually want to build around. For Orlando Schroeder would be a decent stop gap PG to hold them down until they eventually find one they like.
