They got to benefit from a feuding Kobe & Shaq, Shaq outta shape, every other Western Conference opponent gettin beatin into submission by GOAT franchise, and then they got a nice free Finals window from 2005 to 2008 and still couldn't get more titles than the GSOE in their so called year of dominance. OP might have a point.

After the Kobe/Shaq breakup in 2004. In that 2005-2008 window the Spurs won 2 titles, made the Conference Finals each of those years except 06 and they came within a Manu Ginobili foul from going back to the Finals that season
What more could the Spurs have done. Through 2005-2008 the Spurs were the best team in the league hands down
