Y'all are killing me making me defend Stern but in this instance....just this one instance...he is right. It is almost impossible to prove someone is throwing a game to rest players but there are actions teams can take with players to get them rest throughout the season that won't make it look so blatant. If your favorite team went to the Finals and only played bench players the entire series and lost, technically they didn't break any rules either.

This a money making entity that many many others also profit from. Vegas probably shytted themselves when they saw Pop left 4 starters at home. Doing shyt like that effects more than just the Spurs and this one game. People lost money because of this and I bet Stern had to take the lion's share of folks bytchin about it. No matter the outcome of the game, tens of thousands of dollars were exchanged with the thought that if healthy and able, Duncan, Manu, and Parker would be on the floor playing. When you get to this level, it is not longer just a game. Its a business.

shyt like this is why the NFL makes every team list injury reports right up until an hour before the game. You can't be playing with people's money.

fans can be mad at the coach and team that did this, but theres nothing illegal about it AT ALL. its all within rules. unless of course you bet mad money on the other team.

again, as long as you play players that are legally on your roster and field the number of players you legally are responsible to field, there is NOTHING illegal in it.
