We'll get some insight when the Jimmy situation is finally resolved.
What insight lol ... he’ll get a package similar to what the other single year contract stars have received ... he’s not getting traded for Simmons & Fultz or any of those others pipe dream trades you think the spurs should have held out out for

They should have kept in him thru the offseason and seen if he really would have sat out games again. DeRozan has been great offensively for the Spurs (and we won't really know the full value of the trade until next season when Dejounte Murray is healthy), but seeing some of the starts for these would-be contenders has me lamenting the fact that the Spurs could have gotten even more for Klaw.

Let's say Kawhi put up the opening few games comparable to what he's doing in Toronto now. You mean to tell me the Lakers don't come up off Kuz and Ingram in a nanosecond after their start? The 76ers don't chunk the deuce to Simmons and Fultz or Saric after their start? The Celtics don't seriously consider flipping one of the Js and a piece?

There's no way the locker room/court is any more awkward than what it is with Jimmy and the Wolves right now. And the only teammates that would have been alienated by Kawhi staying were Manu and Parker, and they're both gone.

Again, Pop and RC made the Toronto move not knowing that Murray's knee would disintegrate, Walker's knee would almost follow suit and that White would sustain a foot injury as well. But I wonder what could have been had they held on into the season. :mjcry:

First off derozen>>>> Kuzma and Ingram
Those kids are super overrated at this point.

Second, Philly is NOT trading Ben Simmons.

Derozen is playing the best ball of his career and is locked for 3 years and you still worried bout Kawhi?:what:

I’m about to turn into a Derozen Stan.

Nothing dude does is ever good enough.

I get that he has choked in the playoffs but he’s still an All-star that has never been a problem in the locker room and done what his team has asked concerning developing his game.

As a laker fan — I don’t think Kawhi is leaving Toronto this summer. Team perfectly suited for him. I’d be surprised if he bolts :ehh:

This.

Toronto as a city vibe and everything is perfect for kawhi.

Both parties had reached the point where they couldn't move forward with the other...

If you Kawhi, you have become arguably the best player in basketball...when last healthy you were on a historic playing run averaging 27 8 4 on around 55 45 95 splits...you were on your way to soloing the warriors into a 1 - 0 lead. When Parker was scoring 0 points and Danny couldn't score 40 points in a week and LMA put up the second worst season of his career YOU were carrying the team to 60 + wins in back to back years... Yeah you fukked off last season but ANYTHING less than a supermax offer is disrespectful...

If you are the Spurs...mostly pop and rc...you have 5 chips...you have multiple coy awards...gm of the year awards...you are the gold standard everyone measures themselves agaist...Kawhi couldn't dribble a basketball or shoot until your coaching staff worked with him...you not desperate to win so you not going to bend over backwards to accommodate anyone...which is why when uncle dennis asked for a front office job you told him to fukk off...there is no way in hell you are paying somebody 200 + million after they only played 9 games and displayed some pretty alarming behavior...hiding from you when you go check on his rehab...just randomly not being with the team...dropping his old agent who got him the max deal he on now for a new agent...who has never been an agent...and then the old agent sues the new agency...and you come to find out the new agency is doing all this shady shyt like putting kawhi family on payroll and giving uncle dennis some real estate deals...i mean depending on how this goes Kawhi might find himself as a witness in a courtroom in a few years...

You also got Dejounte...who is ahead of where Kawhi was defensively at this point in his career...so you probably feel like you can get him right offensively...after all you already did it once...

I also think them being able to get Lonnie played a part in them trading Kawhi...now you know what your back court should be for the next decade...and you probably not going to have to pay either one 40 million a year...

The Lakers were never going to deal with them...they wanted Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, and TWO LOTTERY PICKS...so that means the lakers have to trade Ball to get one...I don't even know how they possibly get the second one...that is pretty much gutting the whole team...

Looks bad for the spurs right now cause they got the worse defense in the league...and the worst defense EVER whenever Patty hits the floor :mjlol:...but they are also going to have A LOT of cap space coming up since they didn't pay 40 million of it to Kawhi...they have another 1st round pick so they could actually get into the lottery this year if they package both picks and say Derrick White or maybe even Forbes if he at least keeps shooting like this...or they miss the playoffs and then maybe they move higher into the lottery...They did get Poetl who is a lottery pick...going to take a least two seasons to figure out how good he is...I don't even have them on the clock until Dejounte, Lonnie, and Poetl are consistently playing together...at least a year away...people don't realize how young the spurs are...if you just take Pau off this team they are the 5th or 6th youngest team in the nba... and their about to get two 1st round picks and Pau is going to be gone next year since his contract isn't fully guaranteed....

Spurs didn't offer Kawhi ANYTHING...they could have offered him a regular max extension...they didn't...they could have offered him a less than max extension...they didn't...they could have offered him a supermax...they didn't...remember all reports before uncle dennis requested a trade was that the spurs were going to pay him the supermax and Jabari Young was all out here talking about how they had a trade lined up for another star player and that the spurs were going to be spoiled...so obviously whatever pop told them in the meeting...probably to go fukk themselves...wasn't what they wanted to hear...even if you know he won't take the money you offer it to at least show your fans you tried...the only reason why you don't even offer the money is because you scared he going to take it...

Spurs as an organization just aren't desperate enough to put up with a dude and his team who they think is trying to take advantage of them...and after all the stuff has come out it should be pretty obvious that Kawhi is going to be playing for the team that gives his uncle the most stuff and gives his family the most stuff...that team was NEVER going to be the Spurs...

Nah, the only real issue I had was giving up Green as well. Raptors were already getting the best player in the deal in Kawhi, but giving up Green hurts even more now that the Spurs perimeter defense is non-existent (again, due to injuries). DeRozan has been much better offensively for the Spurs than I expected.

They had to trade him so they could move on. If they kept him, the desperate media pleas to trade him to the Lakers would be deafening.

If this logic were true wouldn't there be reports of teams at least contacting the Raptors now?
I think that Derozan package was the best one the spurs were going to get :manny:
