NBA is def gonna experiment with stadiums more.

Specially for the Finals.

Teams could make hella money, charge more for courtside and premium lower bowl seats, and have tons of cheap nosebleeds.
i think it is dumb for the finals... being in your home arena in a finals game doesn't seem like something teams would want to give up imo

however i think more special games in a stadium/dome would be smart to play around with. especially if you can get a team better than the spurs to host against another good team.
A Finals game may be worth it only in a game 7 scenario imo. But yeah the league needs to do more of this as well.

Whole vibe was just different. Arenas, jerseys, not as much adds all over the place. Also I never understood why they got rid of the "NBA Playoffs" and "NBA Finals" logos, it looked great.

Preventive measure against slipping. Is the official reasoning.

More like to celebrate that big ass paycheck to make up for the Ls they have in poor attendance they have this year

Unless the tickets are at least triple the usual price, highly unlikely. Spurs moved out the Alamodome to the arena they have because they can control everything and all the gameday money is their money as opposed to giving money back to the owners of the Alamodome (the city of SA)

Making money off of luxury boxes in an arena you own >>>> renting out a stadium for a game that may or may not happen in the playoffs.

Most NBA teams dont "own' their arenas they lease them long term.

Usually they share revenue from concessions, parking etc.

While the teams claim most if not all revenue from ticket sales.

They’re already in swanky arenas. There’s no real reason to do this other than saying they had a ton of people inside a building.

Besides, how many NBA teams even have that sort of setting to pull this off (basically a domed football stadium counterpart)?

Atlanta
Dallas
Detroit
Houston
Indiana
LA Teams
New Orleans
Phoenix
San Antonio
Toronto

Use the domed stadiums in partnership with the NFL… you don’t think the super dome in NO wouldn’t sell out even tho the pelicans arena right next door
