Stories like this are ones the sports media need to pick up and report on. But since it's not anything negative we probably won't hear anything about it.

:childplease:

i've heard so many radio stations say "what a great guy!!!", "he's so humble", "thats a guy you root for!!!" or "great example for the kids"... I'm like :rudy:
Well dummy. He said he works 3 nights a week. Why start a professional career job when he will have to leave in 3 months!?

Damn!

ever heard of non-paying internships? :ld:

He's a rookie making $400,000K. Not too many degree jobs are going to give you 12 hour work weeks or even employ someone who won't be around too often. Go try to find a 9-5 and tell them you can only work 15 hours a week and will need a lot of time off to train.

I see nothing wrong with what he's doing. Who is to say he doesn't have investments? Some are missing the point here. He's not doing this for the money, he's just doing it to keep himself busy. Sheesh. Some people volunteer, he decided to do this.

I am not talking about investments. For one there are people who need that job more than he does. Second, you can't something more productive to do with your time? And three, there are many professional jobs who will hire him just so they can improve their image :manny:

so you're equating one player working a part-time job in the off-season with a guy workin a job during the lockout not knowing if there will actually be a season??
:stopitslime:
Thats a dumb comment right here man. you are ignoring that this shyt is temporary too.

That during the lockout tho. Different circumstances imo.
:mindblown:
The lockout was temporary too.....

so he should invest his entire rookie check and more on starting and owning a franchise when he has a time consuming and physically demanding camp coming in a few months in which he must perform well or risk earning $0 as opposed to 400k

some of yall in here are just :snoop:

He could form an LLC with some of his fellow bench warmers and share the risks. Hell, he could find two other people and get a subway up for $30,000 total between all three.

I like his work ethic, but I agree with the people who say he should be putting his degree to use. He should be getting experience in his field now, so he will be able to get a nice job when his career is over, which could very well be soon.

Is he simple? Simple like Tebow, I mean. Not all-the-way simple like Corky.

Why fast food? Cuz it allows flexibility in his schedule to work out twice daily?
Why min wage? It wastes the young, strong years to be underpaid for long (unless it is some social cause like civil rights or community work).

I can understand tending bar or bouncing at the trendiest night spot in town cuz it is cool and gets you laid. But fast food ain't sexy.

He refers to kids. Real or imaginary?
Is dude simple?

Nword lost a bet. This is a joke/stunt.

Exactly, why not use his capital to start his own jimmy johns franchise? You would never catch a six figure white man working minimum wage in order to "keep busy" I think texas nikkas must have serious stockholm syndrome. Always coming through with that "although I am better that you rednecks, I'm going to go along to get along" swag.

Just like you'd never catch a billionaire white man in a college class on campus huh?

He's taking a job away from someone who would probably need it more like a single mother needing a second job to feed her kids or a college kid trying to pay tuition.
