Thomas Sowell makes an interesting point (though I don't know if he's fudging the numbers) when he compares the wealth and education of Aframs in the 50-70s to 80s-present. According to him, it's gotten worse. He says it's because of Dem policies. I'd take a step further and say it's because we put all our eggs in the Dem basket, blindly.

But not voting for Stacy Abrams is not smart at all.

Being told I'm essentially voting for nothing from a candidate who also desperately needs my vote isn't smart.

If I'm putting you in office and you're not bending over backwards to pass laws that ensure the safety and prosperity of me and mine in perpetuity, we have nothing further to discuss.

You can't say black when you campaign, stay out of black folks faces then. Keep it a buck elsewhere. Being honest about this situation, but offering no solutions, or even promises of solutions in the future, says everything I need to know about her.

They will tip toe and dodge and hide around mentioning black, but will go hard for a much more niche minority which is transexuals.

The reality is that a lot of the other 'allies' get angry when blacks get something just for them. They always want to slip in and dip their hands into the pot when blacks get something.

It's definitely true that the politicians mention black when they need the vote, but never mention black when it comes to distributing the rewards. They know how to slang around "Pookie and Ray Ray getting off the couch" for the blue vote, they know all about carrying hot sauce in purses or using soul voices in speeches, but when it comes to distributing something or policy, all of a sudden it's underserved minorities or people of color.

I'm all for "playing the game", but as brehs have pointed out, no other groups with even smaller numbers gets the same heat when specific policies are mentioned for them. Democrats take anti-blackness for granted as an immutable aspect of American life but won't call it by its name?

This is the kind of thing that makes me feel like we as black people should just let the country be had by fascists as poetic justice. Black Americans have been THE buffer class between sick cacs and destruction of this nice, cushy American society so many take for granted (and to a degree, more global crime and war) for decades.

We have people who come here illegally and largely unbothered looking down on us after centuries of discrimination...when it would be unthinkable for us to get treated with kid gloves like they are 140 years ago in our pivotal moment post-Civil War.

Since so many non-white males want to act like America's been the place of sunshine and rainbows where hard work and determination are all you need, maybe they need to see how shyt looks when we don't play ball. It's aggravating to no end.

She's basically saying be smart about it, if you focus on benefits for black Americans only EVERY other race (that hates us) is going to get mad or feel left out. She even says she tried that before and lost because of it.

It is 2022, we can not afford to not understand the game in this country. We need to move smart, seize power, and bring about the changes we want to see.

She wasn't even being that subtle about that being her intention in this interview either. Like come on.

She says in that interview that she has to play the political game for votes, but will pass laws that will help and benefit Aframs.

So she can't it's too much for her to say black in her campaign, but it's fine to go on an all black podcast that's seen by people of all races and say you'll pass laws that benefit black people? In this thread we have black people bashing arguably the most effective black politician in a very long time, even calling her out of her name. The stuff she did in little time for GA embarasses other politcians. Abrams has been doing groundwork since she lost and has been establishing a field to combat the voter suppression heading into the election. I honestly don't care for any other opinions on the matter, Im 100% donating and phone banking for her heading into the general. Black people in GA, who take shyt seriously will be doing the same, as they did for her the first time around, and as they did for her against Trump. Trump would have took GA if it wasn't for her.

Why Democrats don't mention Black Americans specifically is the same reason Stacey Abrams isn't talked about as much as AOC. That should be your takeaway from this.
