Yep. Happened to me once. People thought they heard a gun shot and the crowd panicked. One of the scariest moments cause you have no control and can't move. I avoid being in the middle of large crowds.

Reminds me of that Station nightclub fire. There is haunting video/pics of people literally stuck as they all tried to exit at the same time. It became a logjam and they all burned.
