Yeah it's really amazing. In the last election, like just about every republican before him, Romney openly blasted the poor people who weren't paying taxes and argued that they should be paying their fair share while the rich people should get a break. This was an attack on a huge portion of his base and not only did they vote for him anyway, they were completely oblivious that they were in the group he was criticizing. These people who earn a net profit each year from the IRS were actually led to believe were paying too much in taxes and were being punished for their success

Exactly. I forget which class I took where I heard this, likely 20th century world history, but the audio of people calling either Kennedy or Johnson to talk about opposing the protests of the 1960's and all of these people prefaced their phone calls with "I'm a good Christian". So Christ told you people who look different deserve to be treated worse?

I was going to say something like this.

My parents are seeing this next time I see them. They need to be made aware of the damage they helped cause. Either they refused to see the danger or didn't care. This really does look like something out of Germany from 80 years ago. This is just days into the storm too.

I'm a believer that something very good can come out of this. Sometimes things need to get worse, before they get better. Everyone can really hold the DNC's feet to the fire and get Bernie's movement going now in full. Someone like him has to be the next nom and that is something that will have a trickle down effect and energize people.

Not with nazi propaganda and white supremacist movements becoming the norm here. It's going to take federal action against that to silence it. Otherwise they'll escalate and get more and more violent regardless of the retaliation to their actions while indoctrinating the youth with their views now too.
