Former NBA coach Stan Van Gundy announced Tuesday morning on the David Baumann Show that he will not coach next season and stated that it was a family decision.

I could see him coming back in 2014. Stern retires next February and I'm guessing Adam Silver will have the full reigns of the NBA after the 2014 NBA Finals.

After everything he's been through as a coach, I wouldn't be surprised if he was just easing his way into retirement. He been through a lot in Miami and Orlando. Then you had stern blocking him from working for espn. He's made his money, why go back?
