I don't know if you guys listened to the totality of his comments but he went much deeper than just Boston...



He even went as far as to mention kids that are killed by drones in Afganistan (a direct comparission to Boston) and the media and public reaction to Jon Benet Ramsey as compared to the number of little black girls kidnapped and murdered...

He never questioned it as a tragedy.. He questioned why one tragedy receives more sympathy and apathy from the masses than another tragedy...


And I never gave @No_bammer_weed heat for his comments because I understood his perspective even though I disagreed with it...

I don't want to derail the thread about Birdman and SVG comments but I didnt see any heat or comments directed at @nobammer...I just saw his post and agreed with his perspective....as far as SVG, I did not hear the rest of his comments/comparisons but I absolutely disagree with his thoughts as they relate to boston.

To this day, i 'm mad that Houston didint take a shot at this nigguh. He wouldve brought some much needed depth and toughness.

But then again once Thomas Robinson gets a shot, he can be jsut as effective as Birdman.

Birdman a winner though. He's been on multiple teams thats gone to the Confernce finals. Was always a fan of his game. He never does more than he capable of and plays within the system.

How he snuck under Morey's radar i have no idea. But then again the whole league passed up the flyer on this guy

And no, I dont think Birdman is simply getting attention because he is white. Hes flamboyant in a Rodman sense (not nearly as good so dont even try it), and he plays a workman like game that fans gravitate to. Look how much attention KMart is getting on the knicks in a similar vain...hustle, gritty, tough defensive minded player who comes on a team late and gives the squad exactly what they need.

Birdman being excused for his past easier than a black man would is an arguable point, but not one that SVG made here.

I knew you were going to bring up Rodman but he caught hell for all of his antics back in the day...and he was actually an amazing player. Fair point regarding Kenyon, but dude was starting in place of Tyson Chandler and his role was actually a large part of what New York accomplished.

Birdman is being billed as the X-factor on a team that has already won a title and is favored to win it again with or without him. I guess the overall point is, there are plenty of workmen in the league, to single out this one is highly suspect (been this way since his Denver days).

And while SVG didn't explicitly make the point, it's obviously a part of the conversation.

birdman goes in on the boards and alters shots at the rim. something the heat DESPERATELY needed. not to mention he has good hands and can finish around the rim unlike joel anthony. even in that 14-16 minutes he plays the heat just spark when he comes in.

it's not really about him being white, he's just getting props because he's on the most high profile team in the league and you get to see that impact on national tv more.

He plays 14-16 minutes a game generally in 4-5 minute segments...he hustles, rebounds and finishes at the rim...you acting like dude is out here playing 30-35minutes a game and giving them 20/10 a game...
