For the last half hour I been just watching old videos and performances of rappers and reminiscing bout Hip Hop in the late 90’s and how hard it is to keep up with the times when new rappers come along and new styles become old and sometimes the music works and other times it does.

But through it all, Nas and Jay-Z have both weathered the storms and for that, we gotta be thankful and say Hip Hop won for them being able to navigate through the times and all the ups and downs that come with the game.

:childplease: this the coli you're not allowed to make coherent non hyperbolic threads . :troll:

Just kidding like Jason, two lyrical greats that have multiple classic/great albums in multiple decades , and managed to flip music money into other venues for economic growth. Great to see two Project brehs survive and thrive :salute:

At some point we should just give love to these artists that have been around for 30+ years now.

Yeah they’ve weathered the storms

When you think about how quickly Hip Hop changes and new styles became old and everything that comes with the game, the way they’ve maintained and kept afloat is nothing short of amazing.

Truth.

I had a nice debate at the barbershop not too long ago, speaking on how a lot of our other GOAT's from the 90's just gave up. There are mad dudes who were making top shelf sh*t back then, who decided to quit and get jobs and only come out now to do quick club appearances.

Without saying names, I saw a legend on IG recently saying he's only available to do shows on the weekend because he has to get back to work on Monday. HAHA! There are a lot of dudes who didn't make it or just decided to leave music alone and get back to work. So anytime we're able to see legends from the 90's still doing their thing and focusing on keeping the music coming, we should definitely give them props and support. This sh*t ain't easy for a lot of them.

I love them both

Jayz
Nas
Common
Ghostface
Eminem (I’m in the minority but I LOVE INFINITE)
Kool G Rap
Snoop
Ice Cube
Scarface

Have been going hard all my life which is why i try to always include them in goat convos. Of course I have preferences and fukk 99% of their politics but you have to give them props as a rap fan for still somehow being dope

Facts

That shyt ain’t easy cause if it was, everybody would be doing it still.

That life is hard; trying to stay focused on your craft, keeping up with shows, the business side of things and then that sometimes stifles an artists’ creativity

Infinite was dope AF!

I'm not the biggest Em fan, but I loved Infinite too. Whole project has that sound that I grew up obsessed with, in the 90's. So out of all of his albums, that was the one that I played a lot, along with MMLP. I need to dust Infinite off soon.

Jay Z hasnt put out a good album in 18 years now... American Gangster

His career post 2008 has put a dent in his legacy imo.
