Yeah they’ve weathered the storms

When you think about how quickly Hip Hop changes and new styles became old and everything that comes with the game, the way they’ve maintained and kept afloat is nothing short of amazing.
 They switched styles like a fakkot :dame:
But not Bisexuals they just intelectual. :ahh:

At some point we should just give love to these artists that have been around for 30+ years now.
I remember a time when a rapper was just 30 and was told to put the mic down

Now we have them making albums and verses in their 50’s

It had to be done or hip-hop would have died

E-40
Too short
Jay
Nas
Bun b
Clipse
De la (r.i.p Dave)

So many more

I grew up in Brooklyn was in the army I played music for Iraq kids in Baghdad while being in tanks and fulers

I love hip-hop

Truth.

I had a nice debate at the barbershop not too long ago, speaking on how a lot of our other GOAT's from the 90's just gave up. There are mad dudes who were making top shelf sh*t back then, who decided to quit and get jobs and only come out now to do quick club appearances.

Without saying names, I saw a legend on IG recently saying he's only available to do shows on the weekend because he has to get back to work on Monday. HAHA! There are a lot of dudes who didn't make it or just decided to leave music alone and get back to work. So anytime we're able to see legends from the 90's still doing their thing and focusing on keeping the music coming, we should definitely give them props and support. This sh*t ain't easy for a lot of them.
The best place for those guys are mass appeal

Call me crazy

But the perfect situation is

Sign to mass appeal

But have

Rocnation management and promotion

You won’t go platinum

But you will get your name out there and can feed your family

:wow:

Gotta give snoop his props too.. busta as well. The longevity gotta be studied
They’ve really just maintained off of name alone, tbh. They drop music and no one cares at all, it does nothing, sparks no conversation, no nothing. Respectfully, of course.

With Nas and Jay-z, it’s still a thing when they drop something amongst the hip hop constituency at large, they’re still relevant and thriving and doing big shhit today and have been for 30+ years, it’s not just living off of name alone. Jayz been low but Nas is still getting ranked as MC of the Year and shhit today, he’s 52 years old. It’s different

Jay Z hasnt put out a good album in 18 years now... American Gangster

His career post 2008 has put a dent in his legacy imo.
Bruh Jay Z came from selling packs in Marcy, now he got five kids, wifed a RnB chick thats also as rich as him and was the face of commercial raps Forbes magazine covers for a long time. Aint shyt putting a dent in his legacy atp.

Snoop to me is the most remarkable. He had chics on leashes at a major award show, no backlash & remains one of America's favs

Also beating a murder charge :leon:
