Dropped from #TnT
I first hears Nas on if I ruled the world, the message and affirmative action remix with ntm here in france, then Nas is like was my shyt and I liked Hate me now and Nastradamus but that was about it.
I was more into french rap until eminem, and then I was more into jay z, at the time of stillmatic I bought it mainly for the cover just like that, I thought it was a good album but just as good as blueprint.
The turning point was when I found a old tape of nas that I got with plenty of old nas track, the world is yours, it ain't hard to tell, dr knockboot, escobar seasons begin freestyle ect, it sparkled my attention, then the lost tapes dropped and that was a wrap, when I heard Black Zombie, Doo rags, Nothing last forever or Purple, I was amazed to me that was far more superior to ANYBODY else, before that I was more into the technical capacities of Em but here there was a substance, an atmosphere and the voice and way Nas made you LISTENING that was ill.
Then I started buy all of Nas' album, what's funny is that I felt Nastradamus and I am more than Illmatic and It was written, I thought Illmatic was too old school for me but it grew on me to the point where when I grabbed the lyrics I was shockedthat album is now my favorite ever
And what sealed the deal even more further is the incredible unrealesed catalog, after 2003 and the explosion of internet, I grabbed all of Nas shyt and I became a stan

I bought my copy of It Was Written when I was living in Paris and the album had that remix as a bonus track. I wonder if I still got that original copy lying around somewhere.
The video for it was dope too. Nas looks stoned as f*ck in the beginning
