That makes no damn sense. But they're keeping SNW and starting a new Star Trek show. If they want to cancel a show, cancel one of the cartoons. Plus Picard is ending this season anyway. [insert confused jackie chan brehmoji]
And they're pushing the premiere to 2024.

If you've seen the first seasons it's worth a watch. Season 4 is what the show should have been from the start.
If you haven't watched the show at all don't bother. It's not worth it to sit through three bad seasons for one (relatively) good one.
