You guys should just let it go. Late viewers are never impressed. If he was going to enjoy season 1 he probably would have watched it back when it came out.If you don't like season 1, I think it's probably best you not proceed with season. The shows just not for you.

90% of late reviews are negative no matter what the project is. 1) because they were never interested in watching in the first place, all the people that would enjoy something like this already saw it. Its star wars, and major ip, not some obscure indie project they may have missed. It was a choice not to watch until now. That should tell you something 2) Hype heightens expectations leading them to expect to be blown away or else be disappointed. 3) There is a strong temptation to be contrarian when people are telling you should like something.
I usually lower the score of a major AAA movie or show by 2 points for every year since it came out for anybody checking on it late. That gives you an accurate expectation of what they will think. If you give Andor season 1 a 10/10. it came out in 2022. That means somebody watching it today for the first time will probably give it a 6/10
My 90% number is baseless i admit.I must be an outlier then, because I recently binged both seasons and loved it.
So by this metric, every show would be expected to be a 0/10 after 3-5 years?I usually lower the score of a major AAA movie or show by 2 points for every year since it came out for anybody checking on it late. I'm going to be honest with you, by episode 8 the show should've hooked you in by now.
If you immediately watch Rogue One after the s2 finale, the whole season becomes 10/10Didn't love the final episode. Some dialogue/scenes were a bit flat and the force stuff feels shoehorned in and lacking in the show's typical subtlety. S1 was a 10/10, this was more like a 9.5/10 with a couple of weak episodes, particularly the stuff with the Maya Pei brigade.
