These companies have killed my enthusiasm for these "reveals" because of foolishness like this. From the early 00's to around 2013 - 2015'ish, most major games announced would be revealed about 1-1.5 years out at most barring a few exceptions (Cyberpunk comes to mind immediately).
They throw together elaborate trailers for games that won't see the light of day for 4 - 8 years at best or that they know will be in developmental hell and never see a release at worst. Cost is not an excuse. It's like they're looking for a pat on the back for work they haven't even come close to even beginning.
