Never been much of a Star Wars fan but I'm definitely going to check this one out. Also the white tears from John boyega being the lead is funny as hell.

I thought it was a wrap seeing a black lead in a Hollywood movie that wasn't about slaves and drug wars. I wonder if JJ got flack for the casting or if they tried to pressure him into changing the lead.

eh... whatever. the prequels aren't apart of my canon anyway

doesn't make sense that the emperor would willingly put a stop to the clones. why wouldn't you want an entire army full of more efficient and more easily controlled soldiers? why wouldn't he just keep making clones into the billions and put the galaxy into a vice grip?

Maybe boyega is a clone from the hood part of the Galaxy

Remember though .. rebels takes place between ep 3 and 4 ... thats a good 35 years before this movie..
I havent watched rebels yet though but i do have them all on the DVR..

I had the same thought about Boyega's character, then I was like nah, breh is not old enough to be that dude from the Rebels episode. Could be a relative though as it seems his family had a rebellious streak. Perhaps a younger brother.

I believe it was Episode 6, Breaking the ranks. The age wouldn't be right for Boyega, but he mentions a sister. Could be a little brother that's lived the life to get back his family.

which is perhaps another hint they are ditching prequel continuity.

Clone production was phased out and discontinued about 10 years before the battle of Yavin, and the Kamino cloning facilities were destroyed. After this time the Empire only enlisted non-clone humans. And eventually (in the expanded universe) the reformed empire (around 15-20 ABY) post Vader and Palpatine recruited aliens in their ranks as well.
