not too familar with the EU, but regardless, clones are played. That's all I'm saying. Bringing him back in any fashion is just to apease nostalgic fans like me, and if it really brings nothing to the story..well..fukk.

Well, the comics did imply that Palpatine was Anakin's father, in a manner of speaking...

They basically implied that Palpatine, when he was younger, used the force to impregnate Shmi Skywalker. It's unknown why he chose her.

So you never know I guess it's possible he also somehow manipulated Shmi into taking the Skywalker family name.

To be fair some of his ideas for what should happen are trash. Didn't he want Luke to fall to the dark side years ago?

The way he explained it, he thought they would show Luke teetering right there on the edge of the dark side and maybe even have Leia or Han in his crosshairs but he was satisfied with what they came up with. He hasn't been too thrilled with his experience since the Disney takeover - especially with TLJ.

We don't know for sure, all we know is that he's going to be in the movie.

Whether it'll be him actually still being alive or just flashbacks is unknown.
