No one is gonna try to make a console cause it makes no sense to do so.

Why fight with sony over ~50 million users when you can reach billions outside of sonys console market.

All these huge companies (netflix, apple, google, etc) wanna get into gaming.

The conclusion all of them came to was that investing in a console is some dumb ass shyt.

Sony will ride it till they can’t anymore, but the reality is the way yall think about gaming is dead.

Who knows what the future will hold
there will be holographs beaming directly into your cerebral cortex
Sony finds value in it and has held off all challengers

It was trash for the longest time. By the time it came out on PS they ironed out some of the thorny bits and had far more content. Like having to do those tall tales in one fell swoop, four hours or so at a time, was something that should have been gone sooner rather than later.

Those early PC years were rough enough, I can't imagine how ass it was at launch phase when it was Xbox only.

Though, releasing Xbox games on PS after the Xbox consumer base dogfoods it is incredibly shameful to the Xbox base.

So the game was trash, then it got better over time once it reached PlayStation.

You know how games have DLC? That's what happened here. So was it good from the jump?
If only we could go into the future to look back into the past to see what ended up happening

I recommend you guys finally play RISE. You'll be shocked that was a last gen launch title. Looks better than most of todays games, Unreal 5 games included

Thats kind of what it comes down to, even if sony is light on first party-internal studio stuff you know when they drop its usually going to be a banger. Thats why people start having these mini melt downs over sony not showing more single player games or talking about gaas cause no one else in the industry can really make these type of games as often as sony does

Their first party quality mostly delivers so I don’t understand what you mean by it or you are talking about quantity? Thats just the times we are in. They will be releasing at least 2 major ips every year starting this year a long with other stuff.

I recommend you guys finally play RISE. You'll be shocked that was a last gen launch title. Looks better than most of todays games, Unreal 5 games included

Not good from the jump, per se. It was a good idea, but it became brutal to play because they were basically working an Early Access title as release.

You'd effectively lose progress doing the main quests unless you saw them through. Each one of those Tall Tales is hours of time and you had NO checkpoint system. If you left 90% of the way there, you had to do it all over again. You got very little for completing stuff. And that completing stuff was in of itself lacking, so you'd run around and continue to redo the small quests over and over, making it painfully monotonous.

IDK how long reviewers played it for, but if you're passing by you can say "gee this is fun" but any serious time dedication the game back then would show the shallow depth. I played in the "limbo" era, which was just Xbox+Windows Store users and additional over-time content, and even then it wasn't all there yet.

I like the game and more people SHOULD play it, but to act as if it was always good is doing a disservice to Rare for picking their pants up and putting meat on the skeleton. It got better way before it reached PS. It's been in a better state for some time, but it took longer to get to that state to begin with.
