NYC - Population: 8,405,837 - 333 homicides (2013)
Los A - Population 3,857, 799 - 255 homicides (2013

That is an insane amount for a city Newark size. God damn. The entire city is like 29 square miles. It's tiny. LA is 469 square miles.

la and ny also have a TON of rich neighborhoods that counter the bad ones....the actual hood sizes of la and ny in 2014 are probably less than twice the size of newarks.

Exactly my point, focusing on Newark will just make things worst for the surrounding towns just like when they knocked down most of the projects in the 90s.

State troopers don't come out their cars to patrol so I wonder how this process will work. I assume they will deligate officers for certain areas to drive thru to show their presence but thats about it. I would have prefered they send in the national guard for support
