X-men Days of Future Past > Avengers 1 & 2

A lot of this has to do with the fact that the X-men just have stronger stories than the Avengers as a whole. The Avengers may be more comic book accurate but that shyt doesn't make it a better movie. You have a much stronger elements going on in DOFP destiny, the future, seeing Xavier in such a weakened state.

Yes Scorsese is maybe the most consistent. And I'm not big on the Aviator, never bought Leo's performance. Not big on Shutter Island, it's a one hitter quitter, not enough going on. Mean Streets is his most underrated flick, such a cool little movie. It was Goodfellas before goodfellas.

Casino I agree is more forced story wise, Rothstein was given the power from the mob bosses but didn't realize he was never in charge because of his ego. Pesci tells him that, your head is bigger than the casino. Nikki had the same problem though, they were all victims to their own egos and greed. But so much going on in that film to not have it on constant replay. The replay value for me and most people who love it is out of the stratosphere. And who wouldn't want a goodfellas sequel? My Blue Heaven I heard was basically that sequel good flick too btw.

I LOVE My Blue Heaven. I've loved it since I was a kid and it still holds up. Love it love it

I'd say Shutter Island is one of his "good or ok" flicks. It's not great or mandatory viewing at all. It's interesting and has a lot of good things going for it and fun but not mandatory

Never got the acclaim for No Country for Old Men other than Javier Bardem's role.

Building on this, idk if it's an unpopular opinion and I feel like I'm usually the only one that has it, but the Coens aren't great storytellers. Their movies are completely character-driven.

I dont care I enjoy both the avengers movies but they're too fluffy for me unlike other MCU films like Winter Soldier shyt even Guardians had the losers making something out themselves theme going for it. There's a reason the Russo Brothers are going to film the last two Avengers movies they want a little more depth to these movies going forward.

I think that's why people love the Big Lebowski so much the characters are memorable and have great dialogue you just want to see their journey through that movie more so than the plot itself.

Damn, Need to build on this, too. I've never seen Elysium but I don't get all the love for District 9.

People whose opinions I usually agree with seem to love that movie while I didn't get it.

And my last one that popped up because of this Kingsmen was just alright.

In the 70's, 80's and 90's, they used to make comedy movies with gratuitous amounts of nudity. They stopped creating them, for the most part. The movies themselves were of low quality writing, directing and acting so they weren't Oscar-winning movies.

I started really thinking about it when I finally got around to watching Fargo. Steve Buscemi was funny, William H. Macy was funny. What's her name wasn't even all that interesting as a normal person and the story was pretty much irrelevant.

I actually kinda liked that about No Country though.

Feel the same way the first 2/3 was pretty engaging but after the church scene the movie falls apart.
