All these video game companies (Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and Valve) get from me is a Paypal. I'd never put a credit card on any of them They get compromised too much.

I have basically reached a point in where I only buy gift cards and use that for the specific merchant.

To me, that is even worse.

PayPal is a middleman though. It's an added layer of protection.If your PayPal gets compromised that's a different story but if a Steam account linked to your PayPal gets compromised the offender still doesn't have your credit card info.
