I think first priority is a pass rusher.. I'd be open to trading up for Tim Williams

I also think we need to consider a new defensive coordinator but they won't

Alright Steelers brehs.. What changes do you see upcoming between now and week 1?

Addition by subtraction ideas:
-I'd REALLY like to see us move on from Keith Butler. And Joey Porter and Carnell Lake (god bless 'em as players) can go too. It was almost as if they watched film of old Steelers/*s games, and film of *s losses, and devised the game plan most likely to get the defense shredded. I just don't see how you keep the defensive staff intact and I think you start here.

-I think it's time for Willie Gay to move on with his life's work. He has clearly lost a step and is not the same guy he was even last year. I think he is now a liability. Hopefully Golson can actually be healthy this year because, even though he's never played a down, you gotta think he'll be an upgrade at this point.

-Special teams coach Smith needs replaced

-I think it goes without saying that Jarvis will be gone.

-I am really hoping our WR corps looks a lot more like we THOUGHT it was going to this year. I'd like to bring back Wheaton at an affordable price, then suddenly Brown - Bryant - Wheaton - Rogers - Ayers looks a fukk ton better than the abomination vs. New England.

-I know Ladarius Green wants to come back - and if he is healthy and cleared and ready to play, then by all means bring him back. But I think the team needs to be thinking about alternatives here if they are serious about having a receiving playmaker at TE.

In terms of actual additions, here's what I'd like to see:
-A veteran free agent CB - not sure what this list currently looks like, but I think the secondary needs an infusion.

-Draft a playmaking OLB in the first round. I think Deebo comes back for one more year so this is the time to snag Dupree's future running mate. I would SERIOUSLY consider the prospect of trading up for Tim Williams. We really do not need to stockpile picks (especially if we sign a free agent CB) and I'd rather move up for this monster than sit and wait on some ho hum player that may or may not contribute.

-At least talk to Norv Turner about the OC position. I'm fine keeping Haley if Turner won't come, but at least talk to that man.

-Try to find another diamond in the rough WR in the mid or later rounds. Preferably an outside deep threat.

-Consider looking for Lawrence Timmons' future replacement in the draft as well. I think Timmons has a couple years left, and he wants to be here. But he won't last forever.

What say you Coli Steeler nation?

Might need to add QB to the list bro :francis:
Just saw that.. I think Ben is pulling a power move. He's got to be frustrated with one or more of the following:
-Bad coaching (Specifically Tomlin and Haley)
-#1 WR being a "me first" diva
-Young WRs playing like trash

If I had to guess, I think Ben wants to see some changes

Really disappointed in Antonio Brown...I didnt realize how selfish breh was, I think that's gotta be a problem when one of your best players is really all in for himself

Yeah and believe me it didn't start with the FB Live thing. When he had that 5 catch/50 yard streak, he pouted for the ball. He pouts when he doesn't get looks even if it results in TDs for other players. He pouts when he doesn't get his stats, especially early on, which makes him lose focus later in the game. Even Ryan Clark (former teammate for several years) has said quite a few times on air recently that AB is all about AB. I think Ben is fed up. But if I had to guess, I think it's more fed up with the coaches for their game-planning failures, and for repeatedly bringing these types of attitude guys on the team and not coaching it out of them. The team as a whole is undisciplined - weed suspensions to top tier players, reckless playing styles, repeated blown defensive assignments, stupid costly penalties. I mean, they're just not "buttoned up" as a team.

Isn't Brown up for an extension? Is there the possibility that the Steelers let Brown walk if it means keeping Big Ben in the fold? :lupe:

Yeah I think they restructured his current deal in such a way to set him up for big money next year. Damn I hope it doesn't come to that. Despite what we're talking about in this thread, it doesn't mean I wouldn't want him on the team. I hope they can get it done. But I also hope, for the good of the team, he learns how to put the team first once he gets that $$
