This was a big song in 98/99, all those songs are forever tied in with my nostalgia and memory, I can't unwind them. I can taste the Carls Jr. breakfast sandwiches, and donuts we used to get walking to school in the morning, and the Pepsi Vanilla we bought at lunch, whenever I play those late 90's songs, especially the ones you forget about from time to time. Now, these are old enough that they are both old school classics, and chic to a younger generation, all the hipster coffee shops and 28 year olds playlists is on 90's R&B.

702 Steelo
Reel Tight Do U Wanna Ride
KP & Envy Swing My Way

So, in 2019, I'm in the Edition on Sunset, opening weekend, chilling in the lobby, it's my birthday and I'n eating some kind of upscale ice cream sundae, and this comes on, and it was such a moment of present and past meeting, that I just laughed to myself.

I have heard people use Steelo, but I'm pretty sure it's from this and similar songs from 1998.

"Steelo" came out in 1996, but back then songs and singles did have an everlasting impact and stuck around in popularity than singles of today

Wow! I never even bothered to look that up. I was only 11 in 1996, but I likely heard, in middle school 1997-2000 is when I heard it all the time. Exactly, singles lasted for whole album cycles, songs like Only You (Remix) and Anytime lasted for whole album cycles on the charts.

I could be tripping but this sounds like they were biting tf out of Playa/Timbaland

So many of those songs sounded similar in content, style, even the video outfits, hard to say. I think sonically it's pretty different. I think IMX Stay The Night sounds closer in tempo.

I loved this back then. I had the cd single!
