Meanwhile, college majors in computer science, chemistry, and physics had much higher unemployment rates of 6% or higher post-graduation. Computer science and computer engineering students had unemployment rates of 6.1% and 7.5%, respectively.

This doesnt really tell the full story tbh, just because someone is employed doesnt mean they aren't underemployed. Like a art major probably accepts any job in any field to pay the bills

There are a lot of trash software engineers out there. These companies would rather have 1 engineer who excels at problem solving working with LLMs. Be the person who understands the business processes & come up with solutions for problems. I've been absolutely crushing work by utilizing LLM's and I'm on track for my third gigantic raise in a row.

That article explains it well.

A.I is handling 30 percent of all code at Google and A.I is handling 20 percent of all code at Microsoft”

^^ Absolutely brutal environment for C.S and other STEM graduates.

Once AI starts handling networking, security, and system engineering it'll be nothing but manual labor tech jobs left. Can't remember which company, but one of them is working on AI that does all networking setup and management.

There are certain things AI just can't do :whoa: you're always going to need people to maintain the computer network

No AI is going to work if the network is down or replace a bad cable.
