TOMORROW :blessed:

"Know where the ledge is, might take a little off the top...Fade the edges...STILL KEEP IT CRISP. Pay no attention to the Politics, cause ignorance is bliss.":ohlawd:Alchemist with that Roc Marciano flow

DRAW SOMETHING
:damn:ALCS FLO
:damn:EV'S FLO
:damn:OHNOS FLO
:damn:THAT BEAT THO

IS ROC MARCIANO INFLUENCING THE GAME OR IS WORD PLAY BACK IN RAP?

I think a little bit of both man. I definitely hear some Marci influence on this album. Ev's rhymes on this seem to be more on some stream of consciousness style. Not necessarily Marci's flow, but I feel like they have a comparable style. hell, I always have. I've always thought their voices weren't that different and they both have that calm and measured, very deliberate flow. Al definitely has some verses on here that sound VERY much like Roc Marciano's flow. If you listen to that joint that got left off, Ron Carter, Al's verse is 100% Roc Marciano style.

Genuine question that applies to more than just this album. It probably should be its own thread. But, in your minds, do you guys feel like an album should be judged less harshly if it's known ahead of time that the people making the album didn't really give a fukk?

That's an over simplification, but basically I heard someone saying Steppington doesn't really have much substance on it, and they also said they thought Redman needed more substance in his music to be an elite emcee, etc. So I was like, if Ev and Al said ahead of time they just fukking rapped about nothing and put a dozen or so joints on a disc and called it the album, shouldn't that be taken into account when "serious music critics" review it?

Like a summer action flick or comedy shouldn't be reviewed the same way a serious drama is reviewed. I think Redman is one of the best, and he's not pretending to be some deep and thoughtful dude, so I don't judge his music that way. I'd review his albums based on what he does, not what I think he should be doing.

Anyone else agree? No? Am I even making sense? I'm sick with the flu, so sorry if this doesn't make sense.

Good music is good music. Personally, I don't give a fukk if a song is about absolutely nothing as long as it sounds cool.

None of Alchemist's projects lately have a concept to me. THere's like a loose theme, but it's not like he goes out of his way to make everything fit together.

I felt this was a solid project but everything was completely random and thrown together conceptually.

Alchemist and Roc Marciano make great music about absolutely nothing

I was never a big fan of Ev but have gotten into his shyt more and more recently and he is dope on this joint.....I still can't stand listening to Alc rap tho...lol...he got a few funny lines here and there but I'd rather hear Ev and the features over his tracks.

Now as a producer, Alc is def one of my favs and one of the best doing it so this didn't disappoint....shyt BANGS in the whip and headphones.

Tracks 1 thru 8 are all great with Byron G being my least favorite of the 8

More Wins, No Hesitation, Swimteam Rastas, Tomorrow, Draw Something are my top 5 if I had to pick

The 2nd and 3rd beats on Swimteam Rastas are my fav on the whole album...incredible, esp the 2nd beat I fukkin wish that could go on forever :banderas:

That's my take on the first 8 too. I think I posted it earlier, but Ev agreed and said his favorite beat was also the 2nd one on Rastas. I like the 2nd and 3rd so much more than the first. The 1st on there is maybe my least favorite on the whole album. The 2nd and 3rd make up for it tho.
Do you know where the sample from See The Rich Man Play came from? :ohhh:

I have no idea man. Wish I knew.
