How? No player at his size has more rejections. None. The man got almost 900 career blocks...at the 2 position. Considering he came into the league with no meniscus to still remain that explosive..and he's always been a two way player..

Steph's gravity impacts the game waaaaaay more than dwades shot blocking. It's just ridiculous to compare them directly like that

So westbrook MVP which he got through stat padding is better than isiah thomas winning finals mvp and leading his team to a championship against the blazers?:mjlol:
Dont know the importance of winning an NBA title brehs:beli:

Logically speaking he's right

MVP accounts for performance over a grueling 82 games agaibdt the entire league while FMVP only accounts for 7 games at most (if it goes to a game 7) against one team.

To win the MVP means you were objectively the best player/performer in the league for the entire season while FMVP means you were the brst player/performer in one series

FMVP would hold more weight if it accounted for the entire playoffs performance and not just the finals

:comeon:Finals mvp holds more weight because you were the best player in the most important series in this league. You were the best player on a team that was the best out of your conference, going aganist the best out of the other conference. Give me finals mvp over season mvp anyday.

Put Curry on the Mavs and he’s Damian Lilard.

That system suits him perfectly, and he has the best role players in the NBA for help, plus a top 3 player in Durant.

When a player is in a system that flatters them, they can appear better than what they are. Remember Nash when Pringles was in PHX? IT last year with Brad Stevens?

What player isn't in a system....:yeshrug:

I mean that's the whole point of a coach, GM and a team...to create structure that players can be successful in.

You can't be a great player without a great system.

This is an absurd statement...The defensive equivalent of steph's offensive impact is probably impossible for one perimeter to make... Prime DWade was not a defensive transformative player... That'd have to be like a prime Dwight Howard type player, and I don't even know if his impact would really match
Far from a Stephen fan but I don’t think there’s a single defensive equivalent to how backbreaking his best offensive season was. Like it’s a transcendent performance from every conceivable facet. Harden is the only one capable of doing close to what Steph did back when, but there’s some trade offs in their situations. Steph in 2016 had the greatest team ever so teams couldn’t dare to key in on him sometimes. On another hand, he had the GOAT team so he didn’t have to shoot as much as he could’ve. Dude could’ve scored even more (on worse efficiency), if guys like klay and Harrison didn’t get theirs too

Digression aside, offensive landmarks rarely have defensive counterparts that reach the same heights. That’s pretty much how the league has been creeping since the shootouts of the 80s

If you still believe this after the past half decade or so, you’re not really thinking at all. Spurs and Dubs have shown that FMVPs just need to show up when they’re asked. You can be “the best player in the finals” without even being the best player on your team mate. :skip:
