When you take away Durant and Klay, you see the real Steph Curry and it's not pretty. He's able to mask his weakness when they're on the court.
But when they're not out there there's less open space at the 3 for him to shoot, taking away his biggest strength. He becomes the primary focus and he's unable to get good looks.
Curry might be the weakest defender on the entire team...they masked those flaws also with great team/help defense.
I understand you can't win a chip on your own but he had an opportunity to silence all critics and he didn't do it.

He'll be recognized as the best shooter ever, but much like other smaller guards it's easy to trap, face guard, and neutralized little guards like him.
He doesn't have the elite athleticism like guys like Westbrook or Rose (pre-injuries) to over come many of his physical limitations.
He benefits from playing in a system with good ball movement and a couple other best all time shooters one of which is picks up the other team's best perimeter players which frees him up to be hid on defense.
Curry came into a good situation if played for somewhere like Charlotte he'd still get his numbers but he wouldn't sniff the finals and probably not those MVP awards either.
