Have you not been paying attention to any of our conversations regarding this? Curry's already been in that very position. You obviously weren't watching GS back then. He was 'mvp caliber on his own' ever since the '12/'13 season when his second option was David Lee. He took the Spurs to six games in the second round with these type of performances -

And this is with David Lee only playing 35 minutes total across four games in the series (avg 5 ppg), because he was still dealing with a torn hip flexor from the first round. Curry had to rely on a 20-year-old Harrison Barnes to fill in as the second offensive option. Let this sink in - Curry took the Spurs to six games, the same Spurs squad that the LeBron-led Heat nearly lost to in six games (if it wasn't for a late-Ray Allen 3) in the '13 Finals. Curry did all that without his second option, having to rely on young complementary pieces to pick up the slack. He didn't have a Wade or Bosh-type player to help him against the Spurs.

He had performances like this all throughout the season:

Please tell me how any of that isn't carrying a squad dolo.

and as i always said mark jackson plus the beginning of assembling the team you see now is the genesis
it's symbiotic it goes hand in hand
the tier of players who can drag shyt coaching and cadaverous teammates along for the ride is rare

chef is top shelf but the goat talk gets the resistance it does because it comes with so much slobbing
it's extra as fukk and its carried by so many non hoopers and nerds
it ain't even chef and the dubs themselves they just been co-opted as the franchise of weenies

Game one was one of those "act of God" type wins for the Spurs. They had no business winning that game. Then Curry got hurt in game three and it was over.

I remember thinking SA looked like they had no answer for Curry and Klay. That's one of those series you look back on and say, "we should have known" what was to come from them.
