Get ready for angry white men to call into sports radio stations and complain about this in disrespectful, borderline racial terms all week
"All they do is put a basket in a hoop, it's not rocket science"

"This ungrateful, selfish stuff is why I don't watch the NBA anymore"

"Everything LeBron speaks he sounds stupid"

"These people just want things to be given to them"

Same dudes got nothing to say about baseball contracts btw. I wonder why
:mjpls:

"College basketball is better. It's more pure. Reminds me of when America was great." :mjpls:

I have a similar argument for not paying college athletes.

:picard: Nah they should get paid...

Especially College Football and Basketball...

When college football coaches are the highest paid public employee...there is something wrong...

fukk college sports...:heh:

whatever qualms you have against Bron, you gotta give him credit for repping the players well and trying to get others paid as much as possible, as well as longer All-Star breks etc.

If he wasn't doing it, no other player would be able to step up like that and makes demands

He's looking out for superstars with this argument. In the current structure Allen Crabbe and Mozgov can get 70 Million and Jrue Holiday can get 120 million.

The handful of superstars are underpaid while everyone else is vastly vastly and absurdly overpaid

I can see why they do it to be honest. If there were no caps then teams like the Lakers, Knicks, and Golden State would dominate because of location and the money they make. Basketball is different from other sports in that talent beats any plan you can come up with. In other sports, with the right game plan you can beat anyone. Basketball also has finite people to play because its dependent on height. Trust me, a cap is for the best because it benefits everyone. I wouldn't watch a sport with 3 teams winning every fukking time.

Salary caps are necessary for competitiveness, which is already as I understand not exactly very strong in the NBA right now.

If players want to get more pay they should fight for getting increased revenue percentage from their franchise and the league, that way all players will get a pay rise in equal amount and the competitiveness of the league can be maintained
