Max contracts help all players get paid in a system with a salary cap. Work on getting rid of the salary cap then move on to getting rid of max contracts.

It's also the sport where one player drives value more than any other.
I can see why they do it to be honest. If there were no caps then teams like the Lakers, Knicks, and Golden State would dominate because of location and the money they make. Basketball is different from other sports in that talent beats any plan you can come up with. In other sports, with the right game plan you can beat anyone. Basketball also has finite people to play because its dependent on height. Trust me, a cap is for the best because it benefits everyone. I wouldn't watch a sport with 3 teams winning every fukking time.
