Smith believes that Warriors and Celtics could land Davis

Jalen Rose and Stephen A. Smith joined ESPN's "Get Up" on Thursday and debated where Davis could potentially end up after both agreed that this is likely Davis' final season with the New Orleans Pelicans.

“He definitely wants out. He signed with Klutch Sports. Anthony Davis doesn’t want to be in New Orleans any longer.

“Whether it’s definitively the Los Angeles Lakers I’m not so sure.

“I would keep Golden State and Boston in the mix because Golden State isn’t sure what Kevin Durant is going to want to do and Boston obviously has the requisite pieces to put together to make sure they can get the player of the quality of an Anthony Davis.

“So I would put Golden State and Boston as possibilities alongside L.A. but there is no question that Anthony Davis, this will in all likelihood be his last season in New Orleans.”

It's hard to argue with Smith's position on the Warriors and Celtics. Golden State could be set to embark on their final run towards a title with this current group that is headlined by Durant, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson. After all, Durant can opt out of his current contract following the 2018-19 season and Thompson is set to become an unrestricted free agent after this coming campaign.

Until I see reports that NO is unwilling to offer AD the supermax then I'm not hearing anything else about him leaving.

If he does leave, it'll be to come back home. :blessed:

AD locked for the next 3 years....He doesn't even have a player option. He has 0 leverage outside of retirement. Pelicans have 0 reasons to trade him even if he does demand a trade.

All this talk is the bron help talk. KD, AD, Klay, Kawhi, Butler, Kyrie, and Boogie.

The media is running out of options because names are getting crossed off one by one.

A superstar player having 3 years on their contract really means they only have 1 or 2 seasons in actuality. Guys like AD have so much leverage via trade value that if they want to be gone teams almost have to trade them with 2 years on their contract so they can get max value back. Look at Kyrie with the Cavs he had 3 years left on his deal when he demanded his trade.

AD will play this season but by next offseason or before All Star break of 2019/2020 season if he wants out there's definitely going to be some serious conversations had.

He doesn’t want to leave NO and he’s not walking away from all that money. He just needs more help. They still got Etwan Moore playing 3 :snoop: When was the last time they had a solid wing player? Eric Gordon, who didn’t even want to be there? :francis:

Why can’t NO put a package together to grab Jimmy Butler? Even if he doesn’t resign there, its still showing AD that they’re at least trying

When he bounces I’d put my money on one of the l.a. teams

if markannan and lavine become all star caliber players , bulls would be the perfect fit
