The thing is the top 2 seeds go without saying so no matter what, the Lakers have to play one of GS or HOU in Round 2. Houston has taken a step back but they weren't going to replicate 65 wins anyway. Lakers as a whole would have to be sizzling in the last 15 or so games of the season for me to trust them to beat Houston 4 times. That or Melo would have to show he has nothing left in the tank.People act as if the Lakers will have to go through every single contending team in the West once the playoffs start.
They could very well end up in a favorable bracket.
So unless Harden misses a significant number of games, the Warriors have a stretch missing Curry and KD, and the Spurs and OKC underperform, it's hard to see a favorable bracket for LA.
