I don't have a problem with people saying Floyd isn't the best ever.
Just because Floyd is undefeated doesn't make him the best ever. Marciano went undefeated and people still consider Ray Robinson the best of all-time. And Robinson lost 19 fights.

I think if Floyd fought Manny and Mosley earlier in their careers, maybe people might view him differently.
Fighting other great fighters in their primes goes a long way when people talk about the best ever.

Definitely Floyd belongs in the conversation though. No doubt about that.

oh i agree. i dont consider floyd the best simply because of his record. i also dont really compare welterweights to heavyweights when talking about the best either...its too completely different types of boxing.

but i watch floyd fight. i've seen about 20 of his fights, and there is no fighter in the history of boxing anywhere around his weight class, that i can see beating floyd. robinson and floyd are far and away the greatest welterweights of all time...put those 2 in a ring and i 100 percent believe floyd wins that fight.

if the shane v floyd fight happened 5 years earlier that would have definitely been interesting. but let me ask you this...if pac and floyd happened 5 years ago do you honestly think the outcome would have been different? in my estimation it would have been the exact same fight.

its like sometime around the gatti fight, around the time floyd moved up to welterweight...he activated some cheat code, and hacked into the matrix. he's always been a defensive fighter, but its like some light bulb went off. what if i just NEVER GET HIT? if i never get hit, and land 1 straight right every round, i will never lose again. fighters have come and gone trying to outsmart that game plan, but its truly genius, and he is the only fighter i have ever seen that has been perfectly designed to execute that game plan.

boxing is the ultimate sport in regard to playing to your strengths, and exploiting your opponents weaknesses. thats really the beauty of the sport. no one can deny floyds discipline in sticking to this. he never plays into someone else hands. he never steps out of his comfort zone to appease fans or the media. he couldnt care less about making sure the fans get their moneys worth or whatever...all he cares about is winning the fight, and cashing his check. thats why he deserves the TBE title.

Stephen is right, but I feel like he takes 45 seconds to say things that should literally take like 10 seconds.

Most New Yorkers are that way. Arrogance and self righteousness. Most of us feel the need to project ourselves to be smarter and better in some ways.
