I'm not going to derail this thread but I just want to say this statement is completely false and you have no idea what you are talking about.
People have tried to use the gym to manage their weight and it has proven itself unreliable long term. In a 10 minute meal you can conceivably take in more calories than both you should eat in a day and than you can realistically burn in the gym.

If you don’t control your intake weight management becomes a problem that’s an indisputable fact. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

They’ve done whole shows about using the gym to try to control weight and it fails. The biggest loser. In the short term if you pull a person out of life and make their full time job working out in a gym they’ll lose weight. Long term as they lose weight it takes more effort and time to burn calories and also they can’t dedicate their whole lives to working out.

You will almost never see a long term weight loss success story that doesn’t also involve cleaning up their diet. On the other hand you’ll see many where a person never even worked out and just cleaned up their diet and lost / controlled their weight.

Dude was pre-diabetic due to a poor diet/lack of exercise.... and him fixing his diet and getting the gym for a year really makes people think it had to be Ozempic?

It's not like this dude was getting work for how attractive women found him..
I’m not denying he’s worked out and changed his diet but you can tell by how big his head looks on his body he may have had some artificial assistance.

Most natural weight loss you can notice in a person’s face. I had no idea he lost so much weight because on TV his head looks exactly the same as it always has. When people are on weight loss medicine or get gastric bypass etc they’re head/face is rarely in proportion.

If Stephen Always at work Smith can hit the gym what’s y’all excuse??
Stephen A Smith makes millions of dollars where he can hire cooks, nutritionists and personal trainers to do all the work for him and bend to his schedule. The average person doesn't have that ability. I'm hard on widebacks too but using people with excess money and access as an example of anything ain't it.:stopitslime:

Man, i am 6’0”. At my worst I was about 215 and I was looking bad. Wasn’t carrying a damn thing well :russ:. Yeah he’s a fukking liar.
I'm 5'10 and when I ballooned to 195 at the height of the pandemic I looked horrendous  I'm down to 160 now and noticed the difference when I visited my parents' house and looked in that mirror again and was like :wtf: cuz last time I looked in that mirror a couple years ago I was sloppy as fukk lmao

I said for weight management the gym is an afterthought. Humanity has proven that right. Unless you are an elite level athlete on the level of Michael Phelps you can't burn enough calories in the gym consistently to make up for eating poorly.

You go to the gym to work on endurance, conditioning, cardiovascular health, strength and muscle mass. You don't go to the gym to manage your weight. That battle is always fought in the kitchen.
Yup. I started working out more seriously 2 years ago and while I did lose 15-20 pounds the first few months, I hit a cap that wouldn't budge for over a year until I started my Invisalign, which limits how much you're willing to eat due to the maintenance (gotta take them out before you eat and then brush/floss your teeth after so a lotta junk food and snacks go out the window cuz it's not worth the trouble). Over the last year or so I shed an additional 15 pounds while going to the gym less.

The majority of humanity is under the boot of capitalism and malnourished as hell.

You’re 100% right bro. That’s why I’m a part of militia that’s planning to overthrow our capitalistic overlords. If you’re interested in joining the Revolution PM me.

Yeah the majority of humanity is fat and the majority of them do not utilize the gym with a healthy diet.

I don't even know why you feel the need to argue this. When it comes to weight management long term going to the gym is irrelevant. You can lose and control weight and never step foot in a gym. On the other hand you can spend all the time you want in a gym and if you don't control your intake make no progress. One is so important it simply can't be ignored and the other is so unimportant you don't have to do it at all.

There are plenty of reasons to go to the gym and work out. Weight management isn't one of them because that's either won or loss by controlling what you eat. If you're trying to control your weight by just going to the gym and eating whatever you're going to fail.
