I'll be reading IT next. I'm a Steven king junkie and have read nearly all his books. I'll have to cosign the shining being his best work. That new Dr Sleep is cool too though.

Any of you guys seen the The Shining TV mini series? It was pretty dope. It was basically the story told the way the book told it. They did a good job with it. I think altogether it was almost 5 hours of footage.

I really liked it, I think it even deserves a thread made on it on its own.

Sounds like it could have gotten some inspiration from the one's who walk from Omelas...not the same concept, but the idea of a dystopian society and coming of age leading to a death march are in tact.

King eventually hated the series and loved the Kubrick movie.

Wich is crazy because he originally hated the Kubrick movie and made the series because of that.

The series was corny and poorly done IMO.

Yeah, that's true. I still liked the TV version though. The Kubrick version is classic, way better than the mini series, but I like the story of the mini series better.

But that goes to show they could do a mini series with IT. They already did one for The Shining. It should be an HBO type joint though, not a cheap TV production like The Shining TV joint.

Any Stephen King project should NOT be on broadcast TV.
