Seems kind've fishy that someone as media savvy as Bannon would call a progressive journalist out of the blue and conveniently forget to mention their convo was off the record.

He probably either wants to get fired or Cheeto told him to create a smokescreen to distract from all the negative press they've gotten this week. I'm leaning towards it being the latter since it would fit with Trump's distraction antics on twitter this morning.

shyt is a sad state of affairs when it's not inconceivable that an administration would sabotage their strategy for dealing with a nuclear threat to temporarily distract from a news story.

That's not the same. MLK wasn't a slave owner. He was for and not against human rights. That's what's missing here. Lincoln should be left out of this, but none of the individuals here are winners. Besides people already want some of Washington's and Jefferson's stuff to come down.

I understand what you're coming from and I get what you mean. Owning slaves is fukked up. This country has a dark history, as many countries tend to. But people who do fukked up things do still get honored at times. And great people do fukked up thjngs at times.

You can condemn some actions while still acknowledging the things they did for the country. But the reason why the confederate statues should be removed is simple. They were traitors. You don't honor traitors.
