Most people dont realize the rights we take for granted today were secured by people who were thought of as far left radicals.
Most people dont even know the history of the terms left and right and how it comes out of the French revolution.
For those who are curious:
The revolutionaries that wanted to conserve the institutions that existed but modify them sat on the right. The ones who believed they shouldn't reform the institutions and should instead build new, better ones sat on the left. Leftists and liberals are two separate things but the retards pretending to be journalists in this country and the imbeciles that call themselves politicians use both terms interchangeably.
A liberal wants the slave master to be more humane to his slaves and sees slaves the way the spca sees animals. A leftist wants the abolition of slavery entirely. In American history, radical ideas included a 5 day work week, voting rights for women, and of course abolition. Liberals get on board after the fact.
