If you don't think you are smarter, why do you keep on trying to call people dumb? That is how this and the last intelligence debate got started. I didn't come into a thread and start bragging. You guys keeping trying to flex and attack me. You could have easily made that post without even mentioning anything about my brain or brightness. Again, that speaks to your insecurities.

Also you can try to trivalize my degree if you want; however, I am quantitative sociologist and a trained statistician (which qualifies me for jobs in a host of different fields) so it's not like I can't measure up in non social science fields. If you think everyone can do statistics then you are sadly mistaken because not everyone is good at math (it doesn't make them stupid but it means they aren't good at math).

You might not think it is important; however, I have contributed to the field of sociology/education research a model to help explain and reduce teacher attrition (esp in low-income schools). I am still a damn student; however, when I presented the model at a national conference, I had senior scholars asking me if they could use it in their future work (because it is still a work in progress).

When I was a teacher, I contributed my research skills (collecting secondary data related to the demographics in a certain area of the city AND collecting primary data regarding the needs of students, parents, teachers, and community partners within those communities) to design a STEM after-school program. In addition to collecting and analyzing the data and designing the program, I wrote a $1 million federally-funded grant (the 21st century learning communities after-school program grant) to actually implement the program in one of the schools in my old city.

While my current project does not develop a new theory, it will reconceptualize how we think about defacto segregation in schools. It will also result in my first solo authored booked. If you think EVERYONE could write a book, then you are sadly mistaken. I have two many strictly STEM friends who are afraid of writing because they are weak at it.

You might think those things are lowly and unimportant, but I am actually making a difference in peoples lives. I am contributing knowledge to the academy, to schoosl and districts, and pulling my community up using my knowledge. I am just in the beginning of my career and you best believe that I will only get better. My CV is hands down impressive PLUS I have the IQ scores to back it up. What the fukk have you done besides get a degree?

Also sweety, who said that I am not taking care of. I'm not complaining about anything in my life. I am being paid to earn my degree (no extra debt). I worked before I went back to school and I still have the downpayment for my first house saved (I just don't want to buy in this city), still have my retirement account from teaching, and I still have savings account for emergencies. Hell my MacBook just messed up and the only thing I complained about what the length of time it would take to get repaired. It is going to cost me $755 just to fix it and if my insurance company were to never reimburse me, I would still be fine. You don't know me. You don't know anything about me, where I come from, or how I live my life.

:what: Why is this muthaphucka still talking to me? You think I'm finna read all that shyt?

J/k I was going to keep clowning you more, but I'm not going to do it. I must be getting soft.

Even though I feel a lot of what you say is horse crap, sounds like you really believe it. I feel that you're righteous with it and I can respect it.

I don't think I'm smarter bcuz I call others dumb sometimes. Smart people do and say dumb shyt earlier and often. I do feel I think a lot deeper about important things than most, not because i'm smarter but because I choose to and others don't. I dig, I read Hitler's writing and listen to Farrakhan and Manson. Most write them off as crazy man, while I dig thru the rubble and find jewels. I don't think I'm better or smarter, I'm just different.

Do you really think good gave you a better brain? Or have your life's circumstances put you in a better atmosphere to excel?

We're similar, but the biggest difference between you and I, you measure intelligence in I.Q test, the way you speak, degrees and things like that. I measure intelligence by a person's ability to maneuver thru racism, poverty, this crazy economy and all of these cons/scams/trickery (401k,students loans, credit, mortgages) and still make something out of themselves. Still make a better way and place for himself and his love ones. That's were I'm at and on. You can use degrees to help you get there, but you must press on afterwards. A lot of us obtain degrees and think that's it. You're still have to beg and depend on another person for a job. How about creating our on opportunities. Since we're the last to get hired and first to get fired. But that's just me, you do you.

well steve did get disrespectful by allowing his mistress(who is now his current wife) to call the house.

how this dude gonna pull some jerk chit like that, then turn around and ruin peoples' happy homes with his radio advice & his little books?:smh:
:whoa:

IM not defending him (and I don't really care enough about his situation to look into specific's of what happened). He's a dirty bag (the irony that woman would accept advice from this dude has me :mindblown:)

IM just saying that woman know damn well what they are getting into when they marry rich or famous dudes, the trade off is the financial stability that man will offer. Even the so-called most "nobel" of men (ie. Dr. King & Bill Cosby) have been exposed...of course there are exceptions. Obviously if Steve cheated on her for 15 years she was willing to over look it...now that it's over u wanna complain :comeon:

Nope.
So? Are people supposed to care? It took her 15 years to acknowledge it and now she wants what...sympathy?

Too bad it's alot of Black women that support him and his wares though.

I don't think I have a better brain; however, I think and analyze things in ways that most people don't (it's really that simple). I am also very resilient.

The funny thing is, we agree on a lot. My life circumstances put me in a position to fail. Statistically, I am an outlier (and that is why no one can really tell me shyt because I've been through the fire and I've proven every that I need to prove. Hell yes I think I'm special). Every single research study about education has pretty much told me that I'm not supposed to be where I am because of my background.

Honestly, I graduated the valedictorian of a shytty high school that did not prepare me to compete with my privileged counterparts at my undergraduate institution. I wasn't stupid (I had the same test scores that they did), but I was very underprepared and I ended my first semester with a 1.57 gpa. If my gpa had been a tenth lower or I had one fewer credit hour, I would have had to sit out for an entire semester. Thank God that I was able to stay but I was still on academic probation.

I had to work my ass off (and I didn't have any resources or remedial classes to help me do it) to eventually graduate on time with honors (which was difficult because we didn't have the money to pay for summer classes). The only thing I had to motivate me was an a$$hole who told me my senior year in high school (he was a tour guide for the local state college in my town) that IF I did get accepted into my school of choice, I wouldn't be able to afford it or that I would flunk out because it would be too hard for me (because of my high school AND my gender). When I told him that he was wrong, he went on to say "well then you probably going to get turned out." I was not going to prove that him right and I didn't, but it wasn't easy.

Since then I have done nothing but try to help other people like myself who have the brains, but didn't necessarily have the resources (or simply have people always trying to discourage them or tell them they aren't capable because of their socioeconomic background or gender). That 21st century grant isn't even the first grant that I've written to help students with tutoring and college preparedness and it won't be the last (the first one was only $3500 my senior year of college).

My research and my overall goal in life focuses on trying to fix shytty schools that constantly fail our best and brightest students. There are a lot of smart black boys and girls who get screwed by schools. Some of them know how to make it past those circumstances (like myself) and some need help.

It was also said, Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce. But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

I just read that verse the other day too :wow:

Which is pretty much what I was in my original post...
One thing I've learned in life it woman want it all!!

Look if your married to a millionaire and u never have to work another day in your life, the dude fukking the next bytch should be the least of your problems. I mean as long as he's not disrespectful (bringing the bytch around you or being all public about it or knocks her up).

That's just my take :manny:
I dont understand where this conversation is going??

I made a general statement on how I felt about the topic! I didn't defend Steve Harvey...in fact I didn't even mention him! I also said "as long as he's not disrespectful" (which u claim he was).

I even said in another post...

So again....I don't know where you are trying to take this :mindblown:
